I’m Jason Meinershagen — firefighter, husband, father, and coach. After three decades of showing up on the worst day of people’s lives, I’ve learned what real crisis looks like. I’ve also seen what it takes to rise from it.
Over the years, I’ve watched good men lose themselves in the stress of fatherhood, identity shifts, and unresolved pain. I know what it feels like to be burned out and unsure what comes next, even when everything looks fine on the outside.
That’s why I started Five Arrows Forge. It’s a space where men can drop the pressure, speak honestly, and do the work to become who they were meant to be. My coaching is rooted in faith, built on grit, and focused on growth that lasts.

My most important role has always been at home. I’m a father to five kids: two adopted, one with special needs, one bonus child, and two biological. My wife and I have walked the road of foster care, adoption, and parenting through trauma. We’ve faced hard seasons and holy moments, sometimes in the same day. That’s shaped me more than anything.

Before the Forge, There Was a Note
First, foremost, and always, I am a child of God, doing my best to follow Jesus Christ in everything I do. A Note From Dad began in 2011 as a simple blog—just a place to share whatever God was teaching me through my mistakes, my struggles, and my experience as a father. Over time, it grew into something more. In 2022, as God began peeling back layers of trauma I had carried for decades, He also started building the vision for what this could become. It was never about likes, followers, or a platform. It was about leaving something real and lasting for my children—and maybe, along the way, helping other fathers do the same. The goal has always been to engage, encourage, enlarge, empower, and equip men to be the husbands and fathers they’re called to be.
